Endowed Professor + Strategic Advisor / UN Forum on Sustainability Standards

Elizabeth A. Bennett is a professor and endowed chair in International Affairs whose work sits at the intersection of worker ownership, living wages, and sustainability governance in global supply chains. She is the author of more than 40 scholarly publications and serves in formal advisory roles with the UN Forum on Sustainability Standards (UNFSS) and the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

Her research asks how businesses, governments, labor organizations, and civil society can work together to raise wages and improve conditions for workers around the world — with particular attention to who owns, and who governs, the systems that shape supply chains. She holds a PhD from Brown University and has recently held appointments at UC Berkeley and Harvard. She is currently writing a book on the global living wage movement.
