    Indrajit Pal is an Associate Professor in Climate Change, Disaster and Urban Sustainability at the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand. He has spent the past two decades working across the Asia Pacific in research, teaching, training, and advocacy in the fields of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, with a specific focus on participatory community-based approaches, interdisciplinary research, and disruptive technologies. He has published 23 books and over 260 academic papers, contributing to knowledge generation, innovation, and capacity building.

    At AIT, Indrajit and his team developed and manage the CRISTA system, a digital platform that combines modelling and risk assessment products with community-driven crowdsourcing to support local agencies in monitoring, mitigating, and responding to hazard incidents in vulnerable communities. The system is currently being implemented in several communities in Nepal and Lao PDR, supported by WFP's Humanitarian Innovation Accelerator Programme.
