Alec Popper

Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability Officer

Alec joined the Cobalt Institute in August 2024 as a Responsible Sourcing and Sustainability Officer. In his position, he manages the Cobalt Learning Group, CI’s platform to build capacity for members on issues relating to human rights and sustainability, as well as supporting other related workstreams.

Alec's background is rooted in business and human rights. He holds a master's degree in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights from the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex, and has spent time working for the Institute for Human Rights and Business, the Danish Institute for Human Rights, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and as a consultant for the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Lindsey Moore

CEO & Founder of DevelopMetrics

Lindsey served as senior economist and foreign service officer at usaid for 10 years overseeing the design and management of $160 million in programs across 34 countries with direct oversight of $35 million in funds to catalyze private capital and promote inclusive growth.

She is a research fellow at united nations university and holds an msc from the london school of economics in development economics and a ba from trinity college in political science.

Sonia Marsh LL.M

Responsible Sourcing | Sustainable Supply Chain | Minerals & Metals

Sonia is an expert in public international law and corporate social responsibility. Her current focus is supporting the global tin mining industry and supply chains in progressive improvement in sustainability and ESG practices, including through legal & standards compliance and stakeholder engagement. She is interested in working with stakeholders on practical approaches that support socially and environmentally responsible sourcing and sustainable development across all tin producing regions in Asia, Africa, Europe, South America and Oceania with a specific focus on effective risk management from conflict-affected and high-risk areas. She has previously worked for the private and not-for-profit sectors in a variety of capacities including legal and project management within the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Finland.

Sonia holds a First Class LL.B (Hons) Law Degree and a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Global Environment and Climate Change Law from the University of Edinburgh. She is fluent in English and Finnish language and is working on her French, Spanish and Swedish.

Jahed Momand

Co-founder and General Partner at Cerulean Ventures

Jahed Momand is co-founder and General Partner at Cerulean Ventures, backing pre-seed and seed stage founders building climate and naturetech companies to create energy and nature markets for planetary-scale regeneration and climate impact. Before Cerulean, Jahed co-founded Magalix (through the prestigious 500Startups accelerator), a machine-learning platform for developer operations where he led product and marketing, and exited the company to WeaveWorks (UK) in 2021. Along the way, he has been an active angel investor in the user- and community-owned Ownership Economy by investing in over 20 companies, and co-founded and runs the premier podcast in the space aptly titled the Ownership Economy, along with Martin Smith. Jahed went to the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign's prestigious graduate program studying Physics (MS), and completed degrees in biology and chemistry at the University of California, Irvine. Prior to starting his business career, he played poker professionally online and in tournament settings.

Martin Smith

CEO and Co-Founder of CommonShare

Martin Smith is the CEO and Co-Founder of CommonShare, a platform revolutionizing sustainable sourcing through data science, traceability, and partner-driven supply chains. A lifelong systems thinker, he is passionate about solving coordination and incentive challenges that block sustainable procurement at scale. Martin holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and is currently pursuing a PhD in Governance and Policy Analysis through a joint program at Maastricht University and United Nations University – MERIT. With a global perspective shaped by work across five continents, he blends academic insight with entrepreneurial experience to drive meaningful impact in sustainability and policy.

Jan Eeckhout

PhD, London School of Economics

Jan Eeckhout is an ICREA Research Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a Barcelona School of Economics Research Professor, specializing in macroeconomics with a focus on labor markets, including unemployment, risk, skill diversity, inequality in cities, and market power. His work has been published in top journals such as American Economic Review, Econometrica, and Journal of Political Economy, supported by major grants (NSF, ERC), and featured in leading media outlets. He has advised over 30 PhD students placed in top academic and non-academic roles worldwide. Previously a tenured professor at the University of Pennsylvania, he has also held visiting roles at Princeton, NYU Stern, and MIT, and chaired the Economics Department at UPF. He has served as editor of the International Economic Review, sits on multiple editorial boards, and is a fellow of the European Economic Association, member of Academia Europaea, and was elected to the Econometric Society in 2019.

Romain Liot

Co-founder and former COO of Adore Me the first B Corp–certified lingerie brand he helped scale the company to $300M in revenue, transforming it from a digital disruptor into a sustainability pioneer before its acquisition by Victoria’s Secret & Co., demonstrating that data-driven, affordable sustainability can scale. Currently exploring his next venture, he focuses on how logic, systems, and aesthetics can reshape fashion, while supporting early-stage innovators in materials, traceability, and climate tech, and advising companies such as Thermotune and Asterion on sustainability transitions. He also serves on boards and collaborates with leading fashion and business schools as a guest scholar, and writes on sustainability, business transformation, and design logic.
