    Jan Eeckhout is an ICREA Research Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a Barcelona School of Economics Research Professor, specializing in macroeconomics with a focus on labor markets, including unemployment, risk, skill diversity, inequality in cities, and market power. His work has been published in top journals such as American Economic Review, Econometrica, and Journal of Political Economy, supported by major grants (NSF, ERC), and featured in leading media outlets. He has advised over 30 PhD students placed in top academic and non-academic roles worldwide. Previously a tenured professor at the University of Pennsylvania, he has also held visiting roles at Princeton, NYU Stern, and MIT, and chaired the Economics Department at UPF. He has served as editor of the International Economic Review, sits on multiple editorial boards, and is a fellow of the European Economic Association, member of Academia Europaea, and was elected to the Econometric Society in 2019.
