    Co-Founder, The Drivers Cooperative

Erik Forman is Co-Founder of The Drivers Cooperative, a worker-owned rideshare cooperative based in New York City. He helped launch the cooperative to create an alternative model for the rideshare industry in which drivers have greater ownership, voice, and participation in the value created by the platform.

Before co-founding The Drivers Cooperative, Erik spent more than a decade working as a labor organizer and educator. His work has focused on worker ownership, cooperative development, job quality, and new approaches to building businesses that distribute economic power more broadly. He also co-founded People’s Choice Communications, a worker-owned internet service provider developed with striking cable technicians.

Erik holds a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the CUNY Graduate Center and has taught at the Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Center for Labor Studies in New York City. His work brings together experience in labor organizing, cooperative entrepreneurship, technology, and institutional design.
