Head of SDGx Acceleration United Nations World Food Programme Innovation Accelerator

Jose Alcocer is the Head of SDGx Acceleration at the WFP Innovation Accelerator. His role is to expand the impact of WFP and its partners, by creating a platform for innovation and collaboration for the broader humanitarian ecosystem. Since its inception in 2019, SDGx has grown under Jose’s leadership to deliver 34 innovation programmes, supporting more than 300 ventures in over 80 countries. In 2023 alone, the SDGx portfolio ventures reached 12.8 million people. With a community of over 800 innovators around the world and a partner base of governments, UN entities, corporates and NGOS, SDGx has become one of the largest and most impactful innovation platforms working towards the Sustainable Development Goals. Jose has over 20 years of experience at the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation and social impact in a multitude of sectors and geographies. He is a creative leader and systems thinker that strongly believes in the power of participatory co-creation to transform the way complex issues are tackled.
